Shop owner electrocuted, 3 others injured in Savar
A grocery shop owner was electrocuted and three others of a family, including two children, were injured while they were flying a kite on their rooftop in Savar's Ashulia area yesterday.
The deceased Sohel, 29, hailing from Haridaspur of Natore, was an owner of a grocery shop in Ashulia, reports our correspondent quoting police.
The injured three are now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
"Sohel visited his friend Shakil's house yesterday afternoon. Later, Sohel along with Shakil and his two other sons went to their rooftop to fly a kite which got caught in the nearby electrical wires. Sohel was electrocuted when he tried to disentangle the kite," said Fazar Ali, sub inspector of Ashulia police station.
The other three who were with him got injured trying to save him, said the SI Fazar.
Later, they were rushed to a local hospital where doctors pronounced Sohel dead while the injured three were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, added the SI.
Quoting family members, SI Fazar said the injured persons are now out of danger.
Police handed over the body to the victim's family members.
