4 technocrat ministers relieved
The resignation of four technocrat ministers takes effect today, over a month after they had resigned from the cabinet.
The Cabinet Division yesterday issued a gazette notification in this regard.
Religious Affairs Minister Matiur Rahman, Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam, Science and Technology Minister Yeafesh Osman, and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar had submitted their resignation letters to the Cabinet Division on November 6 after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked them to step down.
However, they continued to participate in subsequent cabinet meetings.
After a cabinet meeting on November 12, Cabinet Secretary Shafiul Alam told reporters that they attended the meetings as no gazette was issued about their resignation yet.
