One held for raping 8th grader

Police on Friday night arrested a teenage boy in connection with a case for raping a 14-year-old girl in Rangpur city.

The arrestee, a resident of Chawkbazar Ashratpur area, is a Class X student at a vocational institute in the city.

Earlier, father of the victim girl, a Class VIII student, filed a case with Tajhat Police Station.

According to the case statement, the accused, secretly took some obscene images of the girl around two years ago, and had been raping the victim since then, threating her to upload the photos on the internet.
