Kid drowns in river

A child drowned in the Chandona river at Paikkandi village in Rajbari’s Baliakandi upazila on Saturday.

The victim was Rahul Shikder, 7, son of Sohid Shikdar of the village. Rahul was a student of Class I at a local school.

Sohid said Rahul along with two other children went to take bath in the river around 9:00am and drowned.

Later, locals rescued the boy from the river and sent him to the upazila health complex, where on-duty doctor declared him dead.
