‘Keep price of daily essentials normal ahead of Ramadan’
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has asked all divisional commissioners to go hard in a bid to keep price, stock and supply of daily essentials normal ahead of the month of Ramadan.
The minister also ordered the deputy commissioners of all the districts and upazila nirbahi officers to take necessary steps in this regard, said a press release of the ministry issued today.
However, the ministry put forward letters to the respective government officials on April 17, according to the press release.
In the letters, the minister said the role of the local administration is imperative to keep prices of the daily essentials in a tolerable level of people.
The minister, in his letters, also underscored the need for strengthening market monitoring activities to keep the prices of the essentials within a purchasing capacity of the people, the release said.
Apart from this, the drive against adulterated daily commodities ahead of the month of Ramadan should continue across the country upholding the people’s interest.
