The arrestee is Hamidul Islam Khan, 47, son of late Lutfar Rahman Khan of Kazir Chawra village, said Officer In Charge of Sadar Police Station Mohammad Rayhan.

Victim Promodh Chandra Barmon, 55, son of late Surendranath Barmon of Hiramanik village, is now undergoing treatment at Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital.

Promodh was hired by local farmer Abdul Miah for harvesting paddy at Kazir Chawra village on Friday. He along with other farm labourers including Hamidul and his elder brother Ayub Ali Khan was harvesting paddy at a field on Friday noon.

Promodh's wife Surobala Rani said her husband is the lone bread earner of their family. They have been going through hardship since her husband was admitted to hospital.
