Bina Tripura an inspiration for indigenous women
Thirty-three-year-old Bina Rani Tripura has become an inspiration for many indigenous women for her indomitable spirit as well as helping other fellow women here.
As recognition for her work, the woman was awarded National Youth Award 2018 on November 1.
Founder of 'Home Tailors and Training Centre', Bina trains other indigenous women alongside stitching clothes for customers at her tailoring shop in Sadar upazila.
Bina, a mother of two, said after being separated from her husband a few years ago she became very helpless and was struggling to earn livelihood for the family.
Seeing her struggle, one of her relatives advised her to take training on tailoring from Khagrachhari Youth Development Centre, she said.
After completion of training, she started the tailoring shop on Khagrachhari-Dighinala road, she said. Bina became known to everyone for her skill and hard work.
With the increasing workload, when she was struggling to finish her work order, she decided to train other women in the area with a vision to help each other.
She has trained at least 20 girls and now they all are engaged at different workplaces, Bina said. Four women now work at her shop.
Parachhara Union Parishad Chairman Tapan Bikash Tripura said they are proud of Bina for her wonderful achievement and setting up such example.
