Mother hands over addict son to police

A woman handed over her drug addict son to police in Akhaura upazila of the district yesterday.

Nasir Miah, 30, son of Abdus Sobhan of Amodabad village, used to torture his mother Rahima Begum for realising money to buy drugs, said family sources.

Police later produced Nasir before a mobile court, led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Shamsuzzaman, which sentenced him to three years' imprisonment.
