Fish worth Tk 6 lakh poisoned

Criminals poisoned to death fish worth around Tk 6 lakh in a pond, owned by three siblings, at Shatbaria village in Kaliganj upazila of the district on Tuesday night.

Siblings Mehedi Hasan, Tamser Ali and Taher were cultivating fish in their five -acre pond at the village.

"Besides many big fish, we released fish fry worth around Tk 3 lakh  in the pond this year," Mehedi said.

“Out of jealousy, some people put poison in the pond on Tuesday night, killing all our fish worth around Tk 6 lakh,” he said.

Kaliganj Police Station OC Mizanur Rahman said they will take action if a complaint is lodged.
