Badrul confesses hacking Khadiza to kill

Shahjalal University of Science and Technology student Badrul Alam today confessed to hacking Khadiza Begum Nargis to kill in his confessional statement under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPc).
Sylhet additional chief metropolitan magistrate Umme Sharaban Tahura recorded his hour-long statement that started at around 3:30pm.
Badrul, 27, was produced before the court at 3:15pm amid high security from Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment for his injuries as he was beaten by the mob after that incident on October 3.

He mercilessly hacked Khadiza, a student of Sylhet Government Women's College in broad daylight, as frightened onlookers kept filming the barbaric attack and screaming from a distance. The video went viral since it was uploaded on social networking sites.
Khadiza is still in critical condition as she is under treatment at capital's Square Hospital.
Meanwhile, the condition of Khadiza remained unchanged as she was still on life support, said physicians today.
“We can’t say anything until 72 hours expire…Khadiza is on a 72-hour medical observation. Her condition remains unchanged but we’re hopeful of improvement,” Dr Mirza Nazimuddin, a consultant at Critical Care Medicine of Square Hospital, told UNB at the hospital.
Replying to a query whether Khadiza will be taken abroad for better treatment, the physician said, “In this condition it’s not possible to take her abroad.”
