Any sabotage centring verdict will be curbed: IGP
Inspector General of Police Mohammad Javed Patwary today said that the law enforcers will strictly resist any attempt to carry out subversive activities by any quarter centring a court verdict tomorrow.
“We hope the law and order situation will be normal and remain under control across the country tomorrow”, said the newly appointed IGP at a press briefing at Media centre of Police Headquarters in Dhaka.
He said if any person or quarter tries to deteriorate law and order situation and public security, law enforcers will handle it strictly and deal it legally.
Security measures have been beefed up across the country including the capital to maintain law and order situation and protect public security, the IGP also said.
Replying to a question whether the law is equal for all as leaders and activists of ruling Awami League and also workers’ leaders will gather in Dhaka city tomorrow, the IGP said the law is equal for all.
Yesterday, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) imposed ban on procession and carrying sharp weapons, explosives, flammable materials, sticks in Dhaka tomorrow to avert any untoward incident centring a verdict in a graft case of Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The ban will be effective from 4:00am tomorrow and continue until further notice.
