Moulvibazar man found coronavirus positive a day after death
A 45-year-old man who died in Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar yesterday was found to have been infected with coronavirus.
He died of fever and cough. And after the death, his samples were sent to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) for testing.
The results came back positive this evening, Dr Tauhid Ahmed, civil surgeon of Moulvibazar, confirmed to our local correspondent after IEDCR informed him.
The deceased, a local shopkeeper, may have come in contact with someone who returned from abroad recently, the civil surgeon added.
Urmi Roy, acting upazila nirbahi officer of Rajnagar, said the family members of the deceased in Akua village under Tengra union of the upazila were placed in home quarantine after the man died yesterday.
"We are taking steps to lock down his house and the neighbourhood after IEDCR informed the local administration," the acting UNO further said.
