War crimes accused dies of old age

A war crimes accused died of old age at Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj yesterday morning.

Abdul Ali Mollah, 65, fell sick inside the jail in the morning, said Sub-inspector Bachchu Mia of the hospital police outpost.

He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 9:30am but the doctors there pronounced him dead soon afterwards, the SI added.

On January 24, Abdul Ali Molla was arrested from Bagerhat in a case filed over the crimes in 1971.
