‘Takeda’ donates $1m to AUW
Japan-based global pharmaceutical company “Takeda” has donated $1 million to Asian University for Women (AUW) in Chittagong for establishing “Takeda Chair in Public Health” at the university.
AUW and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company made the announcement at a ceremony on the campus on Tuesday. The funding would propel research and enable AUW to work towards improving public health in developing and emerging countries.
Prof Nirmala Rao, vice chancellor of AUW, and Haruhiko Hirate, corporate officer of corporate communications and public affairs of Takeda, were present.
