Submit Hall-Mark chair's health report in 2 weeks
The High Court yesterday directed the jail authorities to submit a report in two weeks on the health condition of Hall-Mark Group Chairman Jasmine Islam.
Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice KM Hafizul Alam passed the order during hearing a rule issued earlier over granting bail to Jasmine, who is now in jail, in a corruption case.
The judges passed the order as Jasmine's lawyer Advocate Abdul Matin Khasru told the court that his client is sick and very weak and prayed to the court to grant her bail.
The bench also adjourned hearing on the rule for two weeks.
On July 11, a Dhaka court sentenced Jasmine to three years' rigorous imprisonment in a case filed over her failure to submit her wealth statement to the Anti-Corruption Commission within the given time.
