Road accidents kill 6
At least six people were killed in road accidents across three districts yesterday.
In Barishal, bus helper Liton Rari, 42, and an unidentified person aged around 52, were killed on spot after the bus lost control and fell into a roadside ditch in Gournadi-Baichkhola road, reports our correspondent.
The incident also left twenty persons injured, said Sheikh Atiar Rahaman, Officer in Charge of Gournadi Highway Police Station.
The injured were rushed to Barishal Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital and Gournadi General Hospital, he also said.
In Faridpur, a Magura-bound truck lost control and collided with a three-wheeler in sadar upazila on Dhaka-Khulna Highway, killing construction worker Sujan Patoyari, 22, on the spot, police said.
Ten others, including school headmaster Azizul Islam, 45, were injured in the incident, and rushed to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, where Azizul succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile in Rajbari, Ripon Kazi, 32, and Monir Ahamad Mollah, 43, were killed on the spot when the driver of a car lost control over the vehicle and fell into a roadside ditch in Kalukhali upazila, reports our correspondent.
No further details were known immediately.
