Man dies after being hit by train

A man died after being hit by a train in Kadamtali area of the port city yesterday.

The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately, said Assistant Sub-inspector of Chattogram Railway Police Station Santush Mallik, quoting witnesses.

The accident took place around 7am when the man was hit by the train in Kadamtali, leaving him injured, witnesses said.

On information, police rescued him from the spot and took him to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), where he died at 9:30am, the ASI added.
