‘Kathin Chibar Dan’ today
“Kathin Chibar Dan”, a religious festival of the Buddhist community, is being observed today across the country.
Kathin Chibar Dan is an annual religious festival during which Buddhists donate different items required by monks, including cloth woven in their own looms.
The ritual plays an important role in the Buddhist community -- to be a devoted follower of the religion -- through teaching them unity, solidarity and harmony.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages, conveying greetings to members of the Buddhist community.
