JS body for new tourist attractions
The parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism yesterday recommended developing Sonadia and Maheskhali islands as attractive tourist destinations along with Saint Martin's.
The recommendation was made at the second meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on the civil aviation and tourism ministry in Dhaka, said a press release.
The committee stressed on further developing waste management system at the tourist spots, including Cox's Bazaar, to ensure an eco-friendly environment.
It recommended taking necessary steps to sell tickets in such a way that no seat remains vacant during flights. It was stated at the meeting that eight development projects and two study projects of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation are under progress, the release added.
Presided over by chairman of the committee RAM Ubayedul Moktadir Chowdhury, members of the committee -- State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali, Engr Mosharrof Hossain, Ashek Ullah Rafique and Syeda Rubina Aktar were present at the meeting.
