Four more witnesses testify
Four more prosecution witnesses yesterday gave their statements before a tribunal in connection with the Holey Artisan attack case.
The witnesses are: CID Inspector Prashant Kumar Debnath, Sub-inspector Nizam Uddin, Constable Mozahar Ali, and Alam Chowdhury, caretaker of the house where the militants used to live.
The witnesses testified before the court and were cross-examined. Judge Majibur Rahman of Anti-Terrorism Special Tribunal afterwards adjourned the hearing till July 30.
A total of 74 witnesses out of 211 have so far testified in the case.
On July 1, 2016, armed militants stormed the Holey Artisan Bakery in the capital’s Gulshan and killed 20 hostages, mostly foreign nationals. Two police officials were also killed during the 12-hour standoff.
A case was filed under the anti-terrorism act with Gulshan Police Station.
