EWU holds 19th convocation
East West University (EWU) organised its 19th convocation on its campus in the capital on Monday, said a press release.
The convocation was dedicated to the memory of Bangabandhu, ahead of his birth centenary. On behalf of President Abdul Hamid, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni conferred degrees on students.
A total of 2,111 graduates received their certificates. Three students were awarded gold medals for excellent academic performance.
Prof Kazi Shahidullah, chairperson of University Grants Commission, was the special guest, and Barrister Amir-Ul Islam, senior lawyer at the Supreme Court, was the convocation speaker.
Syed Manzur Elahi, EWU trustee board chairperson; Prof Mohammed Farashuddin, chief advisor of EWU; and Prof Shahidul Hassan, the university's vice chancellor, also spoke on the occasion.
The university's department heads, teachers and staff along with guardians of the graduates participated in the convocation.
