Engineer’s body recovered from Dhaleshwari
Police recovered the body of Mehedi Hasan Jishan (35), an engineer, from the Dhaleshwari river in Munshiganj yesterday noon. This comes after he went missing four days ago after falling from a trawler in the Buriganga river at Baktabali area in Narayanganj.
Deceased Mehedi hailed from Boalia upazila in Rajshahi. He was an engineer at Bangla Cat Company.
Another engineer of the company, Likhon (32), who also went missing after the incident, is yet to be found.
Upon being informed by locals, police retrieved Mehedi’s body from the river adjacent to Bhashanchar village around 1pm, said Farid Uddin, officer-in-charge of Sirajdikhan Police Station.
Police detected wounds on the victim’s legs and forehead, the OC said.
On the day of the incident, Mehedi and Likhon were crossing the Buriganga on a trawler after finishing their work in Baktabali area.
Around 5:30am, a launch hit their trawler, making them fall into the river, family members of the duo informed law enforcers.
