DMP arrests 72 in anti-narcotics drive in city
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 72 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during in the on-going anti-narcotics drives in the capital in the last 24 hours till 6am yesterday.
Detective Branch (DB) in association with the members of local police stations carried out separate drives starting from 6am Thursday.
During the drives, police recovered 2,451 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 355 small packets containing 413 grams of heroin, 1.595kg hemp, 80 bottles of Phensedyl and 7 ampules of sedatives from their possessions, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.
