Brac launching learning centre in Kutupalong
Brac, with support from the UN Refugee Agency, will inaugurate the first learning centre in Kutupalong Rohingya camp today, aiming to create more space and educational opportunities for refugee youngsters.
The two-storied Temporary Learning Centre (TLC), located at Camp 4 Extension, will house up to 240 students in two classrooms in three shifts each day. It was designed by two associate professors at Brac University's architecture department, said a press release of UNHCR yesterday.
There are 540,000 children of school age across all refugee settlements in Cox's Bazar, but only 160,552 have spaces in TLCs.
