Bogura journos protest attack on colleagues
Journalists in Bogura yesterday threatened to wage tougher movements if those responsible for assaulting three of their fellows are not identified and brought to book within 48 hours.
Journalists from Bogura Television Reporters’ Unity and Bogura Television Camerapersons’ Association formed a human chain in the town’s Satmatha area, and gave 48-hour ultimatum to law enforcers to identify the attackers and bring them to book.
A group of alleged Chhatra League activists on Sunday assaulted Ducsu Vice President Nurul Haque Nur and several other quota reformists when they were preparing for an iftar party at the town’s Woodburn Public Library premises.
The BCL men also assaulted Jamuna TV cameraperson Shahnewaz Shawon and local online news portal Pundra Kotha staff reporter Abdul Awal, and verbally abused Kaler Kantha senior photojournalist Thanda Azad, who were covering the incident.
