18th death anniv of Badiul Alam
Today is the 18th death anniversary of Advocate Badiul Alam, a freedom fighter and politician.
Born in 1926, Badiul got his undergraduate degree from Calcutta University and LLB from Dhaka University, says a press release.
During Liberation War, he was an Awami League regional president in Chattogram, and later became Socialist Party Chittagong's south division president. In 1972, he became vice president of the Lawyers' Association and in 1981 became its president. He spearheaded activities of Kodom Mubarak Muslim Orphans Feeding. In his village, he set up Fatehnagar Sharifunessa Nazir Uddin Girls High School.
Advocate Badiul Alam Memorial Foundation will hold a milad mahfil at Chattogram's Chandanaish.
