18 suspected Rohingyas held by DB
Detectives of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) detained 18 persons, including 17 Bangladeshi passport holders, suspecting them to be Rohingyas from port city’s Khulshi area yesterday noon.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) (North) Mirza Sayem Mahmud of DB said they were detained in front of the Assistant High Commission of India in Khulshi at around 3pm upon suspicious behaviour.
According to the passport holders, they are from Rajbari, Kishoreganj and other northern districts of the country, he added.
Police were verifying their identity, added the ADC.
