Moniruzzaman Monir, expelled activist of Buet Chhatra League, in his confessional statement today said he beat up Abrar Fahad with a cricket stump four to five times.
Metropolitan Magistrate Sarafuzzaman Ansary recorded Monir’s statement after BD Inspector Md Wahiduzzaman took him to the chamber of the magistrate for recording the statement, court sources said.
After recording his statement, the court sent Monir to Keraniganj Central Jail in Dhaka, the court source said.
With Monir, six accused out of total 19 Chhatra League leaders and activists of Buet unit, arrested in connection with the murder, gave their confessional statements before the concerned magistrates.
Abrar, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering, was beaten to death reportedly by Chhatra League leaders of the university's Sher-e-Bangla Hall unit on October 7.
