Holey Artisan victim Robiul honoured at JU
The 30th batch of the Bangla department of Jahangirnagar University yesterday honoured slain police officer Mohammad Rabiul Karim, also a former student of the department, for his valiant activities during the July 1 Gulshan café terror attack last year.
The ceremony was held at Selim Al Deen Muktamancha on the JU campus, celebrating the 16th anniversary of the batch.
Rabiul, assistant commissioner of the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, died on July 1 while he was fighting to rescue hostages from the Holey Artisan Bakery cafe. His mother Karimon Nesa and his wife Umma Salma received a crest.
