Hermaphrodite killed by train

A hermaphrodite was killed after being run over by a train in Atapara area of Panchbibi upazila in Joypurhat yesterday afternoon.

The deceased was Sohel Rana, 36, alias Sundori a resident of Uttar Gopalpara village in the district.

Locals said Sohel was walking near a rail track and accidentally went under the running train after being chased by a BGB man.

Abdul Maleque, camp commander of Atapara BGB camp under Joypurhat-20 BGB Battalion, said Sohel was trying to go India illegally crossing the border.

Police sent the body to Joypurhat Modern Hospital.
