HC stays BAU's action to terminate 95 class III, IV employees
The High Court yesterday stayed for four months the authorities' action to terminate 95 employees of class III and IV of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh.
After hearing two writ petitions filed by the sacked workers, the court also issued two rules asking the BAU authorities concerned and the government to explain in four weeks why their decisions to terminate the employees should not be declared illegal.
Petitioners' lawyer Bodruddoza Badal said the BAU authorities terminated 26 third class workers and 69 fourth class employees without showing any reasons and on February 26 appointed a total of 313 class III and IV employees.
