A former teacher of Eden Women's College was found dead in Banani DOHS area of Dhaka this morning.
The deceased, Ali Hossain Malek, 65, a retired professor of the college, was found death with stab injuries at a house on Road No.2 of Banani DOHS around 9:00am, Sheikh Mohammad Shamsul Huq, security and executive officer of Banani DOHS Parishad, told The Daily Star.
Malek, who lived with his family in Mirpur-10 area of the capital, was the manager of the seven-storey building owned by one of his relatives, said Huq, also a retired honorary captain.
His body was found in a room on the second floor of the building, Huq added.
One Saiful, a cleaner in the building, went into hiding after the incident, police said.
Police picked up the caretaker of the building, one Selim, for interrogation, said Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bhashantek Police Station.
No case was filed in this regard till filing this report at 6:40pm.
