Charge sheet pressed against 4 of neo JMB
Detectives have pressed charges against four members of Neo JMB in a case filed for toppling the government through subversive activities in September last year.
Aminul Islam, 34, his wife Nahid Sultana, 30, Shariful Islam, 18, and his wife Marzia Akhter Sumi, 19, has been in jail since they were arrested in a restaurant in the capital's Farmgate on September 7.
Mohammad Wahid Ullah Sarkar, an inspector of Detective Branch of police and also the investigation officer of the case, on Tuesday submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court of Dhaka.
Shariful, Aminul and Sultana were active members of the militant organisation. Marzia joined the organisation through Facebook recently, according to the case statement.
Another Dhaka court yesterday took cognisance of the charges against former JMB chief Saidur Rahman and two others in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
The other accused are Abdullahel Kaderi and Ayesha.
Judge Kamrul Hossain Hossain Mollah of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court fixed January 22 for hearing on charge framing against the accused.
They were charged for their alleged involvement in planning to create subversive activities across the country in the capital's Donia on May 25, 2010.
