2 female BNP leaders get anticipatory bail
High Court yesterday granted eight-week anticipatory bail to Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal President Afroza Abbas and its Secretary General Sultana Ahmed, two top leaders of BNP's women wing, in three violence cases.
The HC asked the duo to surrender before the lower court concerned after their bail period expires, their lawyer Barrister Shanjid Siddique told The Daily Star.
The bench of Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice Krishna Debnath passed the orders after hearing separate petitions filed by them.
The cases were filed with Ramna Police Station on charges of preventing police from discharging duties on February 8 centering BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's conviction in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
