3 held with 19,000 yaba pills in Ctg

Members of Rapid Action Battalion arrested three people with 19,000 yaba tablets after intercepting a Dhaka bound bus in the city early yesterday.

The elite force also seized the bus of Shyamali Paribahan in this connection, says a press release.

The arrestees were identified as Md Sabuj, 32, of Chandpur and Palash Mondol, 28, and Nasir Hawladar, 30, of Barisal, it adds.

On information, a team of Rab-7 intercepted the bus, which was coming from Cox's Bazar, in Kotwali area of the port city around 3:10am, says the press release. It further says the Rab members arrested the trio on the bus and recovered the yaba tablets from a hidden place beside the driving seat.

During primary interrogation, the arrestees “admitted” that they were taking the yaba tablets to Dhaka from Cox's Bazar, says the press release, adding, the cost of the seized yaba tablets was estimated at Tk 95 lakh.
