Rahul Ananda recovering after accident

Rahul Ananda, the multi-instrumentalist musician and front-man of urban folk group Joler Gaan, and also an avid artist and theatre and TV actor, suffered an accident on Sunday evening, but is out of any immediate danger. He underwent surgery at the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) in the early hours of yesterday, and was under observation. 

The accident took place near the Prime Minister's Office, where Rahul was on a motorbike being driven by a friend. A pick-up van apparently hit the motorbike, causing it to crash. He was first rushed to the National Orthopedic Hospital, and then transferred to DMC. He suffered injuries in the groin and thigh regions, and after a successful surgery, is recuperating. He is expected to make a complete recovery in a couple of months, sources close to him informed. 

As the news spread, the formidable social media following of the musician-actor stirred up in concern and good wishes for him. A number of noted personalities of the theatre and music scene rushed to the hospital upon learning of the accident.
