Sadek Ahmed’s ‘Red vs Green’ underway at EMK Center
Sadek Ahmed’s second solo exhibition, Red vs Green, tells tales of the rural regions of Bangladesh and the Old Town of Dhaka. The exhibition, which is currently taking place at EMK Center, comprises of 30 artworks, composed in water colour. Eminent artist Monirul Islam inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest on August 31, while Abul Barq Alvi, Professor, Printmaking Department, Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, attended the opening ceremony as a special guest.
The artworks on display, ranging in hues of red and green, depict scenarios of the regions through the artist’s eyes. Each and every detail is captured and expressed in a way that leaves the audience filled with nostalgia and abstract emotions.
Sadek Ahmed is a freelance artist. Watercolour painting and printmaking are his areas of interest. He completed his BFA and MFA from the Department of Printmaking, Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka. As an artist, he did one solo exhibition on printmaking, and more than 35 group exhibitions. He has attended more than 15 art camps and workshops at home and abroad. The exhibition will run till September 5.
