‘Bela Obela Sarabela’ with Asaduzzaman Noor and Aly Zaker to reair
Ekushey Padak-winning actor and freedom fighter Aly Zaker passed away in the early hours of November 27, 2020. He was battling cancer for the last four years. He was diagnosed with Covid-19 two days prior to his death.
Born on November 6, 1944, he mesmerised audiences with his performances on the stage, radio, television and big screen throughout his illustrious career.
A rerun of the show, "Bela Obela Sarabela", featuring eminent cultural personality and Member of Parliament Asaduzzaman Noor as the host and Aly Zaker as the special guest, will be aired tonight at 7:45 pm on Desh TV. The show originally aired on May 2011.
During the programme, Aly Zaker talked about his student life and his experiences from 1971 as a freedom fighter, among other things.
Aly Zaker and Asaduzzaman Noor shared a close bond, working in the theatre group Nagorik Natyo Sampradaya since 1972. They worked together on numerous projects, including the plays "Nurul Diner Shara Jibon" "Dewan Gazir Kissa" and "Galileo" among many others. On television, they appeared in classics like "Bohubrihi", "Aaj Robibar" and "Nokkhotrer Raat". Aly Zaker, Sara Zaker and Asaduzzaman Noor are founding members of the advertising company Asiatic 3sixty.
"Aly Zaker was such an actor, who enlightened the world of acting with his talent and presence," shared Asaduzzaman Noor in a previous interview with The Daily Star. "Be it on the stage, on television or in any other medium, he has enlightened every step of his path. He is his own comparison, he is incomparable to others."
