Grameenphone launches Future of Entertainment
New and improved GP Music and Bioscope -- the two revolutionary digital entertainment services by Grameenphone, were launched on August 11, at GP House in Dhaka.
Titled as the “Future of Entertainment”, the new digital entertainment platforms are set to change the way people of Bangladesh entertain themselves in the years to come.
GP Music's newest version now offers both online and offline music streaming with HD music quality. The app holds a vast collection of songs ranging from vintage classics to the very latest hits. The music platform now holds more than a million Bangla and English tracks.
At the launching, GP Music also announced upcoming new singles and albums from local favourites like Asif Akbar, Suvro Dev, Miles, Minar and many more. Superstar Tahsan also announced the release date of his 7th solo album “Obhiman Amar” exclusively on the GP Music platform.
Grameenphone also announced the launch of its new live TV app - Bioscope. Bioscope offers around 50 local and international TV channels along with a wide range of popular on-demand contents like full-length movies, dramas, music videos, sports clips, etc. Still in its beta phase, the platform is free of any subscription charge during the beta period.
Among others, film director Amitabh Reza, lyricist Asif Iqbal and other prominent guests were also present at the event. The hosts also declared the launch of upcoming Eid releases on Bioscope, which includes “Feluda in Bangladesh”, Eid Drama titled “Osthir Somoye Shostir Golpo” and Bangladesh vs Australia cricket series live broadcasting schedule.
During the launching ceremony, Mohammad Muntasir Hossain, Head of Digital Entertainment at Grameenphone stated his vision for these services, saying, “We want to build an entertainment ecosystem for the Bangla speaking audience worldwide. These two services are only our initial steps towards revolutionising how the Bangla speaking people entertain themselves with music and video content.”
