Modi greets Rahul on his birthday
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended birthday greetings to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who turned 45 on Friday.
"Wishing the Congress Vice President, Shri Rahul Gandhi a Happy Birthday. I pray for his good health & long life," Modi tweeted.
After many years, Rahul will be in the national capital on his birthday and Congress workers have made elaborate arrangements to celebrate the occasion.
June 19 is an important date in the Congress calendar that witnesses public celebrations from workers despite requests in recent years to desist from the practice.
But what makes Rahul's Delhi stay significant is that he is mostly said to have spent his birthdays abroad since joining politics in 2004. There were rumours, later dismissed with contempt by partymen, that Rahul could set off again for the special day.
