Woman stabbed to death in Ctg
A woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her ex-husband in broad daylight on a road in Chittagong city yesterday morning.
Deceased Rina Khanam, 35, was a worker at a readymade garment factory in Chittagong Export Processing Zone (EPZ). She hailed from Bagerhat, said police.
The law enforcers arrested the alleged killer, Habibur Rahman, 45, a mason.
Rina divorced Habibur a few months ago as he used to quarrel with Rina on different issues frequently. Habibur became angry with Rina for that, said Abul Mansur, officer-in-charge of EPZ Police Station.
The police official added that Habibur intercepted and began hacking Rina, a slum dweller in Dhumpara, indiscriminately at Kalshi Dighir Par when she was going to her workplace around 8:00am.
Locals caught Habibur from the spot and took Rina to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
A murder case was filed.
