In the last couple of decades Bangladesh has made considerable progress when it comes to making basic education accessible to children all over the country. However, when it comes to children from disadvantaged background who are constantly moving from one slum to the other, or living on the streets, traditional schooling system cannot be of much help. If Bangladesh has to move forward, no child should be left behind. The good news is that NGOs and some altruistic young individuals have initiated schools and classes to include children living on the streets and in slums in the education system. The cover story in this issue highlights two such initiatives.
