WALT WHITMAN
May 31, 1819 – March 26, 1892
Influential American poet, essayist and journalist Walter "Walt" Whitman is best known as the father of free verse. His celebrated book 'Leaves of Grass' created controversy in the literary world. Many critics described the book as obscene for its explicit sexuality.
"Simplicity
is the glory
of expression.

not judgmental.
Every moment
of light and dark
is a miracle.
I exist as
I am, that
is enough."
