Two ‘commit suicide’, one found dead in Ctg
Three people, including a schoolgirl, died in separate incidents in Chittagong yesterday.
In Mirsarai upazila, Nasima Akter, 32, wife of Emran Hossain, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her Jamalpur residence at Baroiyer Haat Municipality.
Jorarganj police, however, could not ascertain whether it was a suicide or a murder. Emran has been absconding since the incident.
Meanwhile in Sonapahar area, an unidentified woman, aged about 20, was found with her throat slit on a road.
Police sent the bodies to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsies.
In another incident at Patiya upazila, Pinki Akter, 16, daughter of Abdur Rahim of Kacuai union, a class-V student, allegedly committed suicide by taking poison in her residence.
Pinki committed suicide in the afternoon following annoyance with her mother, said Chittagong Medical College Hospital police quoting her family.
Finding Pinky unconscious, family members rushed her to the hospital where doctors declared her dead.
