Theatre fest in Patuakhali
A 12-day “Sahosik Natyotshob 2014” opened in Patuakhalion Thursday, with the title “Chetona'r Sokashe, Mononer Bikashe”, marking the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. Celebrated thespian Mamunur Rashid inaugurated the festival at the district Shilpakala Academy. The opening day of the festival saw Prangonemore (Dhaka) perform Tagore's classic “Shesher Kobita”, followed by “Rarang” by Aranyak (Dhaka) yesterday. “Shyamaprem” by Prangonemore will be staged at the venue today, with “Shikhondi Kotha” by Mohakal (Dhaka), “Zamindar Darpan” by Golachipa Theatre, “Pragoitihashik” by Barisal Theatre, “Pejgi” by Borguna Theatre, “Mohajoner Nao” by Subachan (Dhaka), “Ora Kodom Ali” by Sahoshik (Potuakhali), “Court Martial” and “Amina Sundori” by Theatre Art Unit (Dhaka), “Comrades Haat Naman” by Gonayon (Chittagong) performed on subsequent days, closing with “Dom'er Madar” by Natyam Repertory on May 19.
