Teenager held for harassing national hotlines’ female operators
Police today arrested a teenager for sexually harassing female operators of different national hotlines, including IEDCR's, from Fulbaria area in Kushtia municipality.
The accused was arrested in a drive by Kushtia district police, who were assisted by the Cyber Crime unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Khairul Alam, additional superintendent of the unit told The Daily Star.
The teenager repeatedly called the hotlines and would make indecent advances if any woman answered, Khairul said, adding that the accused confessed to his crime during primary interrogation.
The arrest was made following a case filed under the digital security act, and the pornography act, with Banani Police Station in this connection, he said, adding that legal action would be taken against the boy.
