Suchona Shely has secured second place at the Rukh Sanat World Traditional Culture and Music Festival, held in Kyrgyzstan. The competition featured 82 artistes and bands from 14 countries, including Bangladesh.
Actress Rumana Islam Mukti has been appointed as a member of the executive council of the Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association (BFAA). Association President Misha Sawdagor told The Daily Star that she was nominated to fill a vacant position in the council.
The Dhaka Folkfest remained dormant for many consecutive years, after being suspended by the former government due to security issues. With a new impartial administration in place, the festival is set to make its much-anticipated return this year.
Coke Studio Bangla 2 has finally come to an end with a blast, after capturing the hearts of the audience with soulful renditions of different genres of music.
