PM declares 12 districts, 123 upazilas free of homeless people

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today declared another 12 districts and 123 upazilas free of homeless and landless people as 22,101 more families were provided with homes under the Ashrayan-2 project

The cold doesn't kill people. Bad policies do.

It seems grossly inappropriate that in a country on its way to achieving middle-income status, there are still people dying from poverty.

The High Court today (August 14, 2022) issued an injunction restraining the government from constructing houses under the Ashrayan Project at a historical playground in Netrokona’s Kendua upazila for the next three months.

Panchagarh, Magura set to become first “zero-homeless” districts

With the handover of more than 26,229 houses to homeless people of five districts of the country, the government is set to declare Panchagarh and Magura as the first “zero-landless” or “zero-homeless” districts of the country.
