Stranded launch resumes operation after 10 hrs in Meghna

The launch, Parabat-9, which ran aground in the Meghna River with 1500 passengers on board after hitting a hidden shoal early today resumed its operation after 10 hours.

The launch hit an underwater shoal in the river around 3:00am while heading towards Barisal from Dhaka, said Md Selim, supervisor of the lunch.

The launch started to move towards Barisal again around 1:00pm with the approach of tidal waves, he added.
