Taekwondo became their passion and representing Bangladesh on international events became a responsibility that they gladly took. They believe that the consistent performance of all three members in the team is the key to their success.
Ujjal Kumar Deb is a junior instructor in Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation. Abdulla Al Noman is currently a taekwondo teacher at Chittagong Cantonment English School and College and Imtiaz Ibney Ali is studying martial arts in Australia. Their future plan is to keep following their passion for martial arts and developing martial arts in Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh team coach was Mahmudul Islam Rana, General Secretary of Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation (BTF) and Executive Committee Member (NOC) of Bangladesh Olympic Association. Rana has been involved with martial arts from 1973, his passion for taekwondo is the reason behind the success of his students.
Bangladesh's participation in taekwondo and international championship has come a long way but even today, the players are struggling financially. Government support hasn't been enough and in most of the cases the players have to bear their own expenses for these international events. Moreover, their career in taekwondo remains uncertain after some time, owing to lack of professionalism in this sector. The players strongly believe that with proper support from the government and sponsors, the future of Bangladesh in taekwondo is very bright.
